Your Rullion onboarding steps explained

Everything you need to do between offer and start date, in order.

Once your offer is confirmed, Rullion's Candidate Services team will guide you through everything you need to do before you start. This page explains each stage in order, what documents you'll need, how long the process typically takes, and who to contact if you have questions. You'll be assigned a Candidate Service Advisor who stays with you throughout.

Have a screening question, but not on assignment with Rullion?

If your employer is using Rullion Screening Services to carry out your pre-employment checks, this page isn't for you. Contact the screening team directly.

What documents will you need?

Most candidates will need the following:

  • Valid proof of identity (passport or driving licence)
  • Proof of address dated within the last three months (utility bill or bank statement)
  • Employment history including gap validation in line with client screening requirements
  • References from recent employers
  • National Insurance number (not required for Ltd company workers)

Not a UK national? Your document requirements may differ. Contact your Candidate Service Advisor for specific guidance.

How long does onboarding take?

The most common cause of delays is incomplete or late document submissions. Submitting everything in full, as soon as you can, keeps things moving.

Frequently asked questions

A bank statement, utility bill, HMRC letter, or council tax bill dated within the last three months is accepted for most clearance levels. Digital statements are generally fine, but check with your Candidate Service Advisor if you're unsure. If a document is rejected, they'll explain why and advise on what to provide instead.

Your link to the Tifo portal is sent from noreply-rullion@tifo.team If you don't see it within one working day of your offer being confirmed, check your spam or junk folder first. If it's still not there, contact your Candidate Service Advisor directly.

Let your Consultant know at the start, as soon as your offer is confirmed. Depending on when your BPSS was issued and what your role requires, it may be transferable or may need refreshing. Don't assume it carries over automatically. Your advisor will check and confirm what, if anything, needs to be repeated before any steps are restarted.

Automated reminders from Tifo are sent by the system and don't always reflect your current progress. If you're waiting on something outside your control, such as a document in the post or records from HMRC, let your Candidate Service Advisor know. They can note this on your file and pause the automated chasing while you wait.

Your Candidate Service Advisor is assigned once your onboarding begins. Their details will be sent to you by email. They're your main contact for every stage of the onboarding process. If you're unsure of their details or can't reach them, email Candidate Services and the team will connect you

Yes. If you're not a UK national, you'll need to provide additional documentation confirming your right to work in the UK. This typically includes your passport alongside your visa, biometric residence permit, or other relevant immigration document. The exact requirements depend on your nationality and visa status. Our compliance team will advise you on what you'll need when they contact you to begin your background checks.

References are requested at the start of your engagement with Rullion once you're onboarding link has been completed. We will not contact your referee unless you have given us your consent in the portal.  For roles requiring security clearance, references may need to be refreshed at set intervals. Your Candidate Services Advisor will advise if this applies to your role.
