Duration: Up to Dec 2027 (12 month rolling contract)

Pay rate: Up to £400 PAYE per day, £545Umbrella per day

Location: Bristol

Hours of work: 5 days per week

You will be responsible for reviewing and carrying out surveillance of piping and pressure-related design documentation, ensuring designs meet the required regulatory, safety and quality standards. You'll work closely with engineering teams, contract partners and internal stakeholders to identify potential issues early, raise and track observations, and support meetings to drive these through to resolution. The position would suit a Mechanical Engineer with strong piping design experience in a highly regulated environment.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong piping design experience within a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering construction, materials, construction methods and relevant regulations.
  • Experience with piping design codes such as EN 13480, ASME III or RCC-M.
  • Understanding of pressure regulations and compliance documentation.
  • Experience reviewing technical/design documentation and identifying issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
  • Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering teams, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Nuclear experience and knowledge of EDF piping specifications desirable.

Role information:

  • Review and carry out surveillance of piping and pressure-related design documentation.
  • Identify, record and report design observations and potential compliance issues.
  • Support meetings to progress observations through to resolution.
  • Liaise with engineering teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure surveillance activities and findings are accurately reported on time.
  • Provide surveillance data to support KPI and performance reporting.
  • Proactively identify potential issues early and support mitigating actions.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
