Job Purpose / Overview
We are looking for a Technical Author to support the development of a suite of short courses for Experienced Worker Upskilling. Working closely with ECITB teams and Hinkley Point C Subject Matter Experts, you will help create clear, practical course materials including presentations, lesson plans, tutor notes and log-book content, while supporting the course through PCAS approval.
Breadth of Responsibility
The role will deliver a complete PCAS-accredited training course that can be used by tutors with the right technical background.
Framework and Boundaries
You will work with internal and external stakeholders to add technical detail to ECITB course materials. Site access is not required, although access to IT systems will be needed. Daily and weekly priorities will be guided by the ECITB Product Development Manager, with day-to-day line management provided by the Construction Capability Team.
Deliverables
You will be responsible for producing and validating:
* Training materials, including PowerPoint presentations
* Tutor notes
* Lesson plans
* Validated log-book tasks
* SME-reviewed course content, agreed with HPC and ECITB stakeholders
* Support for the course through the ECITB PCAS approval process
Principal Accountabilities
Working under the direction of ECITB and the NSA Construction Capability Team, you will be accountable for delivering agreed course development objectives to time and quality standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
You will bring credibility in a training or education environment, with proven experience developing course materials, lesson plans and tutor guidance. Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills are essential.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, disciplined and comfortable working to tight or competing deadlines. They will be logical, precise and confident working within established organisational processes.
