Key Responsibilities
Design & Calculation:
Develop detailed designs and structural calculations for temporary works, including formwork, falsework, scaffolding, propping, and excavation support.
Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to BS 5975:2019,2024 and CDM Regulations 2015.
Safety & Risk:
Conduct thorough Design Risk Assessments (DRA) to identify and mitigate residual risks during construction, use, and dismantling.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Work closely with the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to interpret design briefs and communicate critical design intent to site teams.
Verification:
Perform independent design checks (Cat 1, 2, or 3) on both internal and subcontractor-provided designs.
Site Support:
Undertake site visits to assess specific ground conditions or reactive situations that require rapid engineering solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Status:
Preferably a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with the ICE or IStructE.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or structural analysis tools like STAAD.Pro.
