Job Title: Project Engineer
Contract Duration: 6 months (extension subject to requirements)
Location: Sealand, Deeside (Flintshire)
Working Arrangement: Full-time, onsite

Role Overview

We are seeking a capable and adaptable Project Engineer with a strong background in electronics. This role combines technical engineering involvement with project delivery and elements of supplier coordination and logistics.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of critical defence programmes, applying structured project methodologies (such as PRINCE2 or APM frameworks) while working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. A significant portion of the role will involve stakeholder engagement and coordination activities.

Regular onsite presence is essential, particularly during onboarding. Occasional travel to other client locations (including Bristol, Andover and Portsmouth) may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage projects from initial planning through to successful delivery

Define, develop and maintain system requirements, including support considerations

Contribute to the development of business cases, including financial, commercial and strategic elements

Support technical solution development, including assessment and validation activities

Work alongside engineering authorities to ensure appropriate safety and risk management

Provide financial oversight, including forecasting and reporting

Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and technical discussions

Essential Requirements

Relevant engineering qualification (Level 4 or above) OR Level 3 qualification with a completed engineering apprenticeship and relevant experience

Eligibility for EngTech registration (UK-SPEC standards)

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Proven engineering experience (electronics or mechanical background considered)

Demonstrable experience delivering projects within technical or engineering environments

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Experience

Background within defence or other highly regulated industries

Understanding of safety management frameworks

Experience in technical evaluation or assurance activities

Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or APM
