Location: Warrington, Abingdon - Hybrid available 2/3 days on site
Hours of work: 37 hours per week
As a Nuclear Safety Consultant, you will be involved in a variety of specialist tasks. This could include:
* Delivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in regard to technical excellence, the quality of deliverables, timescales and cost, in a way that supports the long-term growth of the business and its reputation.
* Providing nuclear safety advice, guidance and deliverables for multi discipline projects.
* Actively participating in the integrated design process and interfacing with engineers and human factors specialists.
* Developing and present robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
* Represent the Company on technical matters to clients/external stakeholders.
* Provide technical checking & verification for technical / compliance / thoroughness of argument / QA standards.
* Liaising with all concerned on technical progress.
* Identifying opportunities with clients and supporting, mentoring, coaching and helping others to develop within the business.
Ideal qualifications
Skills Required:
* Ability to confidently liaise with external stakeholders and team members, both oral and written.
* Ability to independently seek out or develop one's own answer to challenging technical questions.
* Ability to organise one's own time and the time of others to ensure internal / external deadlines are achieved and Client expectations are exceeded.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum of 2 years professional engineering/technical specialist experience.
* Have a degree or equivalent in engineering, science or related field of study.
* Basic understanding of the safety case production process and methodologies.
* Familiarity with areas such as decommissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing, radioactive waste.
The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK, and be willing to obtain SC clearance.
