As part of a nationally significant infrastructure programme, there is now an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Manager to lead and shape logistics strategy across the lifecycle of a major fusion energy project.

🔧 The Role
As Logistics Manager, you'll define and deliver the end-to-end logistics strategy, ensuring all materials, equipment, and supplies are efficiently managed, tracked, and transported in line with programme goals and UK regulations.
From interfacing with contractors to managing customs, warehousing, and transportation logistics, you'll play a key role in keeping the programme running smoothly-on time, on budget, and safely.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
* Define logistics strategy and support contractual requirements (Incoterms, risk, transport planning)
* Manage warehousing, material tracking, preservation, and readiness from suppliers through to installation
* Liaise with contractors for packing, shipping, expediting, and delivery schedules
* Oversee customs and compliance with UK import/export laws and regulations
* Conduct logistics studies to support emergency planning, infrastructure, and workforce needs
* Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to facilitate transport and storage logistics
* Manage supplier relationships and review invoices against delivered goods/services
* Monitor warehouse activity and flag discrepancies in materials received
* Lead HSE implementation across all logistics functions
* Report on logistics performance metrics and drive continuous improvement
🎓 What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Proven experience in logistics management on complex technical or infrastructure projects
* Strong knowledge of UK import/export regulations and Incoterms
* Experience managing suppliers, logistics partners, and contractor interfaces
* Ability to lead logistics strategy and operational delivery in a high-regulation environment
* Excellent organisational and stakeholder communication skills
Desirable:
* Background in nuclear, defence, energy, or large-scale construction projects
* Familiarity with risk management strategies and logistics contingency planning
* Understanding of HSE systems and safe materials handling practices
