Support the People Delivering Britain's Net-Zero Future
Hinkley Point C is one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects, bringing together specialist talent from across the UK and overseas to support the delivery of Britain's low-carbon energy future.
We are looking for an organised and people-focused Recruitment Coordinator to support the international onboarding of new employees joining this nationally important programme.
This is more than a traditional recruitment administration role. You will coordinate complex onboarding journeys involving pre-employment vetting, right-to-work documentation, immigration, international mobility and relocation. You will become the primary point of contact for candidates, guiding them through every stage of the process and ensuring their transition into the organisation is professional, compliant and well-coordinated.
The Opportunity
Working as part of an established Resourcing team, you will support recruiters, HR colleagues, hiring managers and international mobility specialists to deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the end-to-end onboarding of international hires.
- Managing pre-employment vetting, including identity verification, employment references, foreign police certificates and security documentation.
- Gathering, checking and processing right-to-work and pre-employment screening information.
- Supporting immigration and international mobility processes, including Certificates of Sponsorship and associated documentation.
- Generating employment contracts and accurately maintaining candidate and employee records.
- Entering and managing international hire information within relocation and onboarding systems.
- Liaising with candidates, hiring managers, HR Business Partners and external service providers.
- Acting as the main point of contact for candidates throughout their onboarding journey.
- Providing regular updates through email, telephone and Microsoft Teams.
- Coordinating relocation, payroll submissions, IT equipment, induction bookings and employee administration.
- Leading onboarding progress meetings, monitoring actions and highlighting potential delays.
- Tracking multiple cases against agreed timelines, KPIs and service-level expectations.
- Escalating sensitive, complex or higher-risk cases to the appropriate HR or expatriate specialist.
- Producing accurate reports and management information using Microsoft Office and internal systems.
- Ensuring all recruitment and onboarding activity complies with relevant legislation, company procedures and data-handling requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve the candidate experience and overall onboarding process.
About You
You will be an organised and dependable coordinator who is comfortable managing several detailed processes at the same time. To succeed in this position, you should bring:
- Previous experience supporting recruitment, HR, onboarding or pre-employment screening activities.
- Practical knowledge of employee vetting processes.
- Experience gathering, checking and tracking sensitive candidate documentation.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills gained within a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise competing workloads and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and empathetic approach when supporting candidates through complex processes.
- Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider recruitment and HR team.
- Strong English and numerical skills.
Particularly Valuable Experience
We would be especially interested in hearing from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- International recruitment or overseas employee onboarding.
- UK visa, immigration or sponsorship processes.
- Certificates of Sponsorship and right-to-work compliance.
- International mobility, expatriate administration or employee relocation.
- Pre-employment screening, background checking or security vetting.
- Recruitment coordination within an in-house, agency or RPO environment.
- HR or recruitment support within nuclear, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, chemical, water, energy, engineering or another highly regulated sector.
- Relocation management systems, applicant tracking systems or HR information systems.
You do not need to have worked in the nuclear sector. Candidates with strong international onboarding and compliance experience from other complex or regulated industries are encouraged to apply.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to apply your recruitment and onboarding expertise on one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure programmes.
You will join a collaborative team, work with candidates from across the world and play an important role in ensuring specialist personnel can join the project safely, compliantly and with a positive onboarding experience.
If you have experience coordinating detailed onboarding or vetting processes-and enjoy helping people navigate complex requirements-we would like to hear from you.
