The Role
Are you an experienced EC&I Technician ready to make a tangible impact within a major UK energy generation environment?
We're looking for an EC&I Technician with strong technical skills and experience in CCGT or large-scale process industries. This is a key role within the engineering function, supporting critical infrastructure and contributing to strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping and safety.
- Comply with statutory requirements, including the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Protection Act.
- Prepare and manage contracts in support of station operations.
- Act as Competent Person or Authorised Person under Safety Rules, ensuring safety from the system.
- Deliver service and maintenance best practices.
- Supervise contractors and personnel during plant overhauls.
- Apply a proactive and creative approach to fault diagnosis and problem solving.
- Support and deliver Process Safety KPIs.
- Contribute to business and station objectives.
- Assist in budget and cost management.
- Undertake procurement activities, including technical specification development.
- Participate in major and interim inspections and overhauls, managing contracts and contractors.
- Perform hands-on maintenance on EC&I equipment and systems.
- Maintain effective interfaces with suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, including producing written reports.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in CCGT plant maintenance or large-scale process industry.
- HNC qualification.
- Computer literacy.
- Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification (desirable).
- Strong team working skills.
- Knowledge of budgets and contract management.
- Understanding of safe working principles and relevant legislation.
- Results-driven with a desire to develop professionally.
- Self-motivated and flexible.
- Ability to support mechanical disciplines with planning and diagnostics.
