Hours of work: 37.5 Hours Per Week - Onsite 5 days per week
The Role:
You will take responsibility for the procurement of materials, services and supporting the subcontract process by commercial teams, within a project, or section of a project. You will also manage relationships with key Supply Chain Partners and manage Categories of Materials or Services as directed by the Commercial Director.
Main Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Obtain best value from suppliers of materials, services and consumables goods in support of the Project Teams.
* To plan, place, and progress orders for materials, services and consumable goods with suppliers, while monitoring cost, quality and delivery performance, for project requirements.
* Report on the placement and progress of orders within the Project Procurement Plan.
* Work with Heath, Safety, Quality and Environmental representatives to ensure all suppliers used are approved to the standards required by the Project and the Company in general.
* To assist in the development and maintenance of the Company's Procurement Strategy and Procurement Business Plan.
* To develop and manage the supplier base to ensure it can meet the current and future objectives of the Company.
Experience/Qualifications:
* Candidates Must have a minimum of 3 years buyer experience ideally working within the construction industry.
* Candidates Must be commercially aware of different forms of contract for example NEC, JCT or FIDIC etc
* Up to date knowledge of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) standards
* Awareness of the current knowledge available from the Supply Chain School
