Role information:

  • Deliver and manage technical mechanical engineering studies across a range of complex engineering projects.
  • Support projects through all phases of the engineering lifecycle, from FEED and concept design through to detailed design, construction and commissioning.
  • Produce and review technical documentation including technical notes, substantiation reports, mechanical flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, layout drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and processes for highly regulated environments.
  • Undertake mechanical engineering studies covering areas such as mechanical handling systems, heavy mechanical transfer systems, powder handling technologies and specialist process equipment.
  • Review supplier technical documentation and ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Support hazard identification, risk assessments and engineering assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Provide engineering support during commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning activities where required.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience delivering engineering design across concept, FEED, detailed design and commissioning phases.
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation including technical specifications, design reviews and supplier documentation.
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, aerospace, rail, oil & gas, chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
  • Understanding of mechanical handling systems, process equipment or complex mechanical systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience considering the full asset lifecycle, including manufacture, testing, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
