IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Duration: Long-term 12-month rolling contract (expected through to 2028/29)
Pay rate: Competitive DOE - Umbrella rates of pay
Location: Sellafield / Whitehaven
Hybrid/Remote Working: Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week on site/office
Hours of work: 40 hours per
Role information
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Responsible Engineer (RE) to support a major engineering programme within a highly regulated nuclear environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, and configuration control of engineering deliverables while supporting key project objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring plans, drawings, and quantities are accurate and suitable for engineering calculations
* Managing engineering documentation, drawings, and technical specifications.
* Maintaining configuration control of engineering deliverables
* Liaising with designers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with engineering and construction requirements.
* Providing progress updates and technical support throughout project delivery.
* Supporting design and constructability reviews.
* Utilising AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D scanning software to support design development and site data capture.
* Identifying and resolving technical challenges whilst effectively prioritising workload.
Qualifications/Experience Required
* HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Proven experience operating as a Responsible Engineer (RE) / SQEP.
* Strong knowledge of plant systems within operational or nuclear environments.
* Experience using Sellafield systems, including CIMAGE.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and multidisciplinary team working experience.
* Proactive and solution-focused approach.
* Previous Sellafield experience and site pass desirable
UK National Security Vetting Status - SC Clearance in place or ability to obtain SC Clearance
