Location: Remote (UK)
Contract: Until December 2026 but likely to extend
Rate: £500-£600 per day (Umbrella)
Reporting to: Electrical Engineering Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Operations Engineer to provide technical support and governance across a portfolio of operational renewable energy assets, primarily onshore and offshore wind, with some solar and BESS assets. The role will focus on maximising asset performance, managing technical risks, leading investigations, and delivering engineering improvements across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering support to Asset Managers on asset performance, reliability and technical issues.

  • Lead investigations into electrical incidents, technical non-conformances and fleet-wide engineering issues.

  • Support the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, engineering standards and technical policies.

  • Manage technical risks, change control processes and asset modifications.

  • Deliver operational improvement projects and provide site-based engineering support as required.

  • Support Development, Construction and R&D teams through technical due diligence, quality assurance and lessons learned.

  • Ensure compliance with HV Safety Rules, statutory requirements and company procedures.

  • Provide technical expertise on HV electrical systems including transformers, switchgear, cables and associated infrastructure within onshore/offshore wind, solar and BESS assets.

Experience & Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Proven experience in an Operational Electrical Engineer or similar role within the renewable energy sector.

  • Strong experience across onshore and/or offshore wind assets; exposure to solar and BESS is advantageous.

  • Experience managing technical investigations, engineering risks and improvement projects.

  • Knowledge of change control, asset management and operational engineering practices.

  • Strong Health & Safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
