Site Supervisor-Southampton

Start: ASAP, contract ending March 2028

Salary: Inside IR35, £40500-£45900 annually

Onsite, may require overnight stay

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the delivery of domestic energy efficiency improvement and retrofit projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contractor performance, ensuring health and safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and supporting a positive customer experience throughout project delivery.

This is a field-based role requiring regular site visits, stakeholder engagement, quality inspections, and contractor management to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Support the preparation, implementation and review of Construction Phase Plans.
  • Review contractor documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Training Records and Competency Certifications.
  • Conduct site inductions for new personnel and visitors.
  • Deliver site-specific Toolbox Talks.
  • Carry out Work in Progress (WIP) safety inspections.
  • Ensure corrective actions are identified, tracked and closed within agreed timescales.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture and support Vision Zero principles.
  • Report incidents, near misses and safety observations through company reporting systems.

Quality & Compliance

  • Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with industry standards and programme requirements.
  • Undertake post-installation inspections and quality audits.
  • Ensure all works comply with:
    • PAS 2030
    • PAS 2035
    • Building Regulations
    • Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
    • Gas Safe requirements
  • Raise, monitor and close snagging items through to completion.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams where required.

Contractor Management

  • Manage and monitor subcontractor performance on site.
  • Ensure contractors are working safely, efficiently and to agreed quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports and daily site diaries.
  • Escalate performance, quality or safety concerns where necessary.
  • Build strong working relationships with contractor teams and project stakeholders.

Programme Delivery

  • Provide regular updates on project progress and site activities.
  • Monitor property and project status throughout delivery.
  • Support programme targets and project milestones.
  • Ensure project information is accurately recorded within internal systems and reporting tools.

Customer & Resident Engagement

  • Act as a key point of contact for residents throughout project delivery.
  • Support resident communications before, during and after installation works.
  • Ensure customer properties and belongings are protected at all times.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints, concerns and queries.
  • Work collaboratively with customer service teams to deliver positive customer outcomes and high levels of satisfaction.

Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain effective working relationships with:

  • Clients
  • Principal Designers
  • Subcontractors
  • Site Management Teams
  • Commercial Teams
  • Customer Service Teams

Support continuous improvement initiatives by sharing lessons learned, best practices and recommendations for future projects.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Site Supervisor, Site Manager or Retrofit Supervisor role.
  • Strong understanding of domestic retrofit and energy efficiency programmes.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and site health and safety requirements.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple workstreams.
  • Ability to conduct quality inspections and identify non-compliance issues.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience producing site reports, audits and project documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 knowledge or experience.
  • Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Coordinator or Retrofit-related qualifications.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience working on social housing or domestic retrofit programmes.
  • Knowledge of MCS and Gas Safe requirements.
