Hours of work: 3 days on site, 2 days from home

We are seeking an experienced Business Architect to join a major programme within the nuclear industry, supporting the delivery of large-scale business and digital transformation initiatives in a complex, highly regulated environment. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will be responsible for defining and improving business operating models, capturing and prioritising business requirements, developing investment cases, and ensuring solutions are aligned to strategic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence business change from concept through to implementation, driving operational efficiency, enabling innovation, and supporting the successful adoption of new processes and technologies across a nationally significant infrastructure programme.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:

  • Proven experience in Business Architecture, Business Analysis, Process Management, or IT-enabled Business Change
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage senior leadership
  • Experience designing and improving business operating models, processes, and organisational capabilities
  • Ability to capture, analyse, challenge, and prioritise complex business requirements
  • Experience developing business cases, investment proposals, and benefits realisation plans
  • Knowledge of business process modelling and architecture frameworks/methodologies
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, digital, or change programmes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within complex environments
  • Experience working within structured project delivery frameworks such as PRINCE2 or similar
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders
  • Experience evaluating solution options and supporting procurement activities (RFI/RFP/ITT)
  • Understanding of governance, risk management, and change control processes
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and workshop leadership skills
  • Experience working in highly regulated, asset-intensive, or safety-critical industries

Role Information:

  • Lead engagement with business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, requirements, risks, and dependencies for business change initiatives.
  • Capture, analyse, validate, and prioritise business requirements to ensure alignment with strategic programme objectives.
  • Develop and maintain business architecture artefacts including process models, operating models, and business capability maps.
  • Support the development of business cases and investment proposals, ensuring benefits are clearly defined and measurable.
  • Evaluate solution options in collaboration with internal teams and delivery partners to ensure alignment with business and user needs.
  • Maintain end-to-end ownership of business requirements, ensuring traceability through design, build, and implementation phases.
  • Support early-stage project definition, including project mandates, option analysis, and feasibility assessments.
  • Work closely with project, delivery, architecture, and supplier teams to ensure integrated and consistent solution design.
  • Support procurement activities including RFI/ITT preparation, supplier engagement, and solution evaluation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and operational optimisation.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment across business areas, ensuring consistency of processes and systems.
  • Act as a key interface between business stakeholders, suppliers, and technical delivery teams.
  • Produce clear documentation and support reporting requirements within architecture and governance structures.
