Role information:
Join a leading nuclear sector environmental team and take ownership of environmental compliance, permitting, and safety case input across high profile projects.
We're looking for an experienced Environmental Lead to act as a trusted advisor across environmental regulation, permitting, and hazard analysis on a major regulated site.
Lead environmental permitting (RSR, Installation/PPC, GHG) and manage variations, renewals & compliance.
Provide environmental input into the nuclear safety case and lead Environmental HAZANs.
Support Environmental Impact Assessments and planning submissions.
Deliver environmental expertise for COMAH assessments and emergency planning.
Integrate ISO 14001 requirements across project phases and construction activities.
Build strong relationships with regulators, stakeholders and local communities.
Provide environmental expertise for COMAH safety reports, consequence assessments and emergency planning.
Support demonstration of prevention and mitigation capability for major environmental incidents.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering-or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of environmental permitting, nuclear safety case requirements, HAZANs, COMAH, EIA and ISO 14001.
Experience in a regulated/high hazard environment (nuclear preferred).
Excellent communication, reporting and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Desirable:
Membership of IEMA/SRP/CIWEM.
Experience with regulatory submissions.
Knowledge of radioactive waste management and sustainability practices.
Experience working on multifunctional or nuclear sites.
UK National Security Vetting Status - Ability to gain SC Clearance
