Job Purpose / Overview

NNB is leading the UK's Nuclear New Build Programme at Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C. The Integrated Project Controls Risk team acts as a centre of excellence, providing a single source of delivery performance information to support successful HPC delivery.

The team works in a matrix structure across key project areas including Central, Site, Engineering, MEH, Nuclear Island, Conventional Island and Balance of Plant, Instrumentation and Controls, and Commissioning.

The Senior Risk Analyst will act as a technical lead for Risk, ensuring consistent application of risk processes, governance and reporting across HPC. They will provide accurate, timely risk and opportunity information and manage contracts valued between £10m and £500m.

The role includes directing workload and providing day-to-day guidance to Risk Analysts and Trainee Risk Analysts.

Principal Accountabilities

• Lead Risk management for the nominated Programme/Area, giving stakeholders confidence in risk identification, analysis, response and reporting.
• Assure the quality and maintenance of Programme/Area risk and opportunity data in systems such as ARM.
• Deliver scheduled risk and opportunity reports with clear commentary on key drivers, performance issues and data quality.
• Support Programme/Area Directors through issue reviews, workshops, scenario planning, risk data analysis, challenge of uncertainty and maintenance of a current risk portfolio.
• Work with IPC, PCM teams and Tier 1 Contractors to ensure schedules, estimates, risks and opportunities are informed by high-quality data.
• Identify and support improvements to integrated risk management processes, reporting and tools.
• Produce and present accurate project controls information for reviews, boards and risk forums.
• Lead Risk management and software training for Programme/Area teams, the PM community and apprentices.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Provide clear, evidence-based risk insight using commercial and technical data to support decisions and manage risks/opportunities.
• Integrate risk management with cost, schedule and change, ensuring outputs align with wider project controls data.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, organisational and time management skills.
• Confident facilitator and communicator, able to explain complex issues to technical and non-technical senior stakeholders.
• Able to prioritise, delegate, collaborate across teams and assure the quality of others' work.
• Expert user of Risk management software, with the ability to guide others and apply industry best practice.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree-level or equivalent qualification in project management, project controls, engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
• Recognised project controls and/or risk qualifications, such as Management of Risk Practitioner or APM Risk Level 2.
• Expert risk management experience, including tools and techniques used to deliver project insight and assess performance.
• Project management environment experience; construction experience is desirable.
• Nuclear or other highly regulated industry experience is desirable.
