Technician - Electrically Biased

Location: Long Marston

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months initially

Location: Long Marston, CV37

Rate of Pay: £21.22 per hour PAYE (standard + 15% shift) or

£27.07 per hour (Pre 12 weeks - Umbrella), increasing to £28.52 after 12 weeks (Post 12 weeks - Umbrella)

Shift Pattern: Days, Monday to Friday - 8am to 4pm

(Overtime can be discussed and is offered on an as required basis, this is paid at Standard Rate)

Training & Courses You Will Achieve Prior to Start (must be available to complete the below mandatory and fully paid training)

Training will be facilitated in Northampton and will include:

  • IOSH

  • First Aid

  • Fire Awareness

  • Manual Handling

  • Fixtures & Fastening

  • Working at Heights

What You'll Do:

  • Perform maintenance on allocated rolling stock with minimal supervision, following all company processes and safety procedures for a Storage Project

  • Complete fault and diagnostics to a high standard

  • Collaborate with your team to assist with rolling stock maintenance, expanding your technical expertise

  • Identify, order, and collect the necessary spares and materials to keep everything running smoothly

  • Support cleaning of rolling stock when needed, ensuring a safe and tidy environment

  • Apply essential train protection measures within the depot site

  • Carry out train preparation to help keep services on time

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Background in mechanical and electrical engineering or a similar process-based environment.
  • Fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to accurately record work completed and follow all procedures.
  • Strong understanding of safe use and care of tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, including manual handling, COSHH, and biohazards.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to interpret technical documents.
  • Capable of producing detailed technical reports when required.

All PPE provided by the client and Health and Safety explained before and on site.
