We're seeking experienced NDT Welding Inspectors / Field Engineers to join the Site Quality Surveillance Team. If you have a background in major infrastructure, power generation, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, water, chemical or nuclear construction, this is an opportunity to apply your expertise on one of the UK's most significant engineering projects.
This is more than inspection-it's engineering assurance in a nuclear safety environment.
The Role
You'll carry out quality surveillance across mechanical installation and fabrication activities, including:
- Pipework
- Pressure systems
- Static and rotating equipment
- Structural and mechanical assemblies
Working within the Site Quality Surveillance Team, you'll ensure construction activities comply with approved quality requirements, inspection plans and recognised industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and NDT quality surveillance on site.
- Verify contractor compliance with Quality Control Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Identify non-conformances and support NCR generation.
- Review inspection records before work is covered.
- Monitor welding, fabrication and installation activities.
- Work closely with construction, QA/QC and contractor teams.
- Promote proactive quality assurance and compliance.
Essential Requirements
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector (minimum)
- PCN-certified NDT qualification(s)
- Proven welding inspection experience on major construction or industrial projects
- Experience within nuclear, power, petrochemical, oil & gas or other highly regulated industries
- Strong knowledge of RCC-M, ASME and BS EN standards
- Experience with ITPs, NCRs, QA/QC documentation and quality surveillance
Desirable
- CSWIP 3.2
- Multiple PCN qualifications
- Nuclear new build or Hinkley Point C experience
- Pressure systems experience
- Knowledge of safety-critical fabrication environments
