Job title - Mechanical Works Controller
Duration - 12months
Shift patterns - Mon-Fri 40hours per week fully onsite
Pay rate - DOE
Location - Whitehaven
Key Responsibilities
Construction Oversight & Compliance
* Manage, control, and oversee discipline-specific construction activities in accordance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM), ensuring all works are compliant, safe, and effectively executed.
* Support the Construction Manager while recognising that overall accountability remains with the Construction Programme Manager.
* Ensure all works are carried out in line with TDA procedures, client requirements, and site licence conditions.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent recognised health & safety qualification)
NVQ Level 5 in (or equivalent)
CSCS Manager Health & Safety Test (Black Card)
Mechanical Discipline Qualification
Experience & Competence
Minimum of 5 years' experience working on the Sellafield site or within a comparable highly regulated environment
Demonstrable technical knowledge within a relevant construction or engineering discipline
Proven experience in the delivery, supervision, and coordination of complex construction activities
Good understanding of nuclear safety culture, regulatory compliance, and CDM requirements
Previous industrial experience, ideally within nuclear, defence, or similarly high-hazard sectors
UK National Security Vetting Status - Ability to gain SC Clearance
