Role information:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of complex facility design projects within a secure, regulated environment. This role will act as the primary engineering representative on projects, ensuring designs meet business needs, functional performance goals, and lifecycle requirements.
You will oversee engineering activities from initial concept through to project handover, maintaining the Design Intent and Design Information Configuration throughout.
Act as the lead engineering representative for allocated projects, ensuring delivery against requirements, safety standards, schedule, quality, and value for money.
Serve as the main point of contact for all engineering matters.
Ensure Engineering Requirements are appropriate and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders.
Recommend budgets and programme timelines required to deliver engineering design work.
Assess suitability and competency of both internal and external engineering resources.
Lead, coordinate and deliver facility design solutions with appropriate safety documentation.
Maintain oversight of design development through routine reviews.
Deliver design solutions that meet business needs, functional and through life performance, and regulatory/licensing requirements.
Manage Design Intent and Configuration throughout the full project lifecycle.
Support continuous improvement, capability development and change initiatives within the engineering function.
Provide and deliver integrated facility design solutions.
Ensure designs are deliverable and suitable for each lifecycle stage (tender, construction, commissioning, handover).
Maintain high personal standards in health, safety, security, environment, and quality.
Support development of facility design capability within the engineering organisation.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Proven leadership experience within a project delivery environment.
Strong multidisciplinary engineering background.
Knowledge of production systems and process partner equipment.
Prior experience integrating designs into new facilities.
Good electrical understanding.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
