The Business Change Lead is responsible for supporting the Head of Architecture and Business Change team in delivering a comprehensive business change strategy and overseeing the implementation of change activities across a large-scale nuclear new build programme. The role works closely with Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure organisational readiness, user adoption, and benefits realisation are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
This position provides informed oversight of business change activities delivered by digital partners and system integrators, ensuring alignment with governance standards, change frameworks, and strategic objectives. The Business Change Lead is accountable for ensuring that digital initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes, with clearly defined benefits, KPIs, and adoption strategies that enable a successful transition into operational use.
As part of the Business Change function, the role contributes to the continuous improvement of change practices, supports capability development, and mentors junior team members where required. The Business Change Lead may also deputise when needed, manage external business change resources and associated costs across multiple projects, and oversee business benefits tracking and related KPIs.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:
- Strong experience managing business change across multiple projects within a credible industry.
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to plan and deliver structured change strategies that support adoption and operational readiness.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all organisational levels.
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to guide and support junior resources.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to align change activities with governance, delivery timelines, and business objectives.
- Knowledge of digital or IT-enabled transformation programmes.
- Understanding of change within large infrastructure or regulated environments.
- Experience delivering business change within complex programmes or portfolios.
- Demonstrable experience overseeing partner-delivered change activities.
Role information:
- Plan, develop, and manage business change workstreams across 60 digital projects.
- Ensure change activities align with programme milestones and governance requirements.
- Deliver business change artefacts including change impact assessments, stakeholder plans, communications strategies, and training approaches.
- Ensure Digital Business Cases contain clearly defined benefits and associated KPIs.
- Establish frameworks for tracking and measuring benefits realisation.
- Monitor adoption and value delivery, recommending corrective actions where required.
- Provide oversight and assurance of business change deliverables produced by delivery partners and system integrators.
- Challenge approaches where necessary to ensure alignment with SZC standards and expected outcomes.
- Report business change performance through established governance forums.
- Maintain visibility of risks, issues, and dependencies impacting organisational readiness.
- Manage business change resources across allocated projects.
- Oversee change budgets in partnership with Project Managers, ensuring alignment with approved business cases.
- Influence senior stakeholders to champion change initiatives.
