      • Support the Electrical Systems team in documenting both current and future engineering projects.

      • Assist electrical technicians with equipment preparation, assembly and testing, and participate in commissioning activities where required.

      • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure documentation and equipment meet project requirements.

      • Participate in technical reviews to help specify electrical components and control equipment for industrial and scientific automation systems.

      • Produce detailed drawing packages including:

        • Single line diagrams

        • Wiring diagrams

        • Control panel layouts

        • Building floor plans showing cable management and busbar arrangements

      • Update and modify existing designs and drawings in accordance with formal change management procedures.

      • Reverse engineer existing electrical systems to create accurate documentation.

      • Support integration of OEM equipment using manuals, I/O schedules and specification sheets.

      • Produce supporting documentation such as device lists and electrical load and distribution board schedules.

      Requirements

      Essential

      • HNC / HND (or equivalent) qualification in an electrical or related engineering discipline.

      • Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams and technical documentation.

      • Experience using electrical test and measurement equipment for troubleshooting and fault finding, with a hands-on approach.

      • Strong understanding of fundamental electrical principles.

      • Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault.

      Desirable

      • Practical knowledge of electrical design standards such as BS 7671, IEC 60204 and IEC 61439.

      • Awareness of functional safety standards such as ISO 13849 and IEC 61508.

      • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
