This is your opportunity to be part of one of the most significant engineering and infrastructure projects in the UK. With thousands of professionals working across multiple disciplines, HPC offers unparalleled career development, exposure to world-class engineering, and long-term progression in one of the most highly regulated and safety-focused sectors.
We are seeking ambitious Junior Construction Delivery Managers who are ready to take the next step in their career. If you have around five years of construction experience-particularly in regulated environments such as nuclear, pharmaceutical, petrochem, chemical, oil & gas, or large-scale civil engineering-this is a rare chance to develop into a specialist construction leader on a nationally critical project.
Job Opportunity
As a Construction Delivery Manager (CDM), you will support the oversight and coordination of a defined area within the Civils or Mechanical scope. Working closely with Senior CDMs, contractors, logistics teams, planning, health & safety, and quality functions, you'll ensure construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with strict regulatory and project requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who is:
- Ready to step up from Site Engineer, Section Engineer, Construction Supervisor, Works Coordinator, or similar
- Keen to transition into a more strategic, oversight-based role
- Motivated by large, complex infrastructure projects
- Looking to establish a long-term career in Nuclear New Build
Principal Accountabilities
Your responsibilities will be diverse, challenging, and crucial to project success:
Construction Oversight & Delivery
- Support the delivery of construction activities within your allocated area.
- Review method statements, sequencing, progress plans and resource allocations.
- Monitor works on site and log findings through daily construction reports.
- Recommend temporary mitigation measures for safety or quality risks.
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a key link between contractors, project controls, logistics, commercial, H&S, and QA teams.
- Attend pre-start briefings and help cascade key daily messages.
- Organise and lead PLOD/PLOW meetings, ensuring clear communication and follow-up actions.
Safety, Quality & Assurance
- Undertake safety and assurance inspections aligned to the project's HSPI requirements.
- Support the identification and escalation of potential quality issues before they impact delivery.
- Ensure the project maintains high standards in line with safety and nuclear culture expectations.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years construction experience (Civils, MEH, or major infrastructure).
- Background in regulated industries such as nuclear, pharmaceuticals, petrochem, chemical, oil & gas.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, constraints, and site logistics.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- SMSTS or IOSH
Highly Desirable
- Experience on large, complex, or high-security sites.
- Familiarity with nuclear culture, behaviours, quality requirements, or assurance processes.
- Strong stakeholder and contractor coordination experience.
Are you ready to be part of a project that's reshaping the energy landscape of the UK? This is your opportunity to make a significant impact on the construction of Hinkley Point C. If you have the skills and experience to lead this challenging endeavour, we want to hear from you.
