As the site enters the complex Mechanical, Electrical, and HVAC (MEH) phase, your expertise in M&E systems and permit control will be instrumental in ensuring operations are carried out safely and in full compliance with site regulations.

The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for managing the Work Authorisation and Permit to Work (P2W) system, issuing, suspending, and cancelling permits across a large-scale construction environment. Acting as a key part of the Permit Office Team, you'll collaborate closely with Tier 1 & Tier 2 contractors, safety teams, and project managers to maintain the highest standards of operational control.

Principal Accountabilities

* Issue Work Authorisations and Permits to Work in alignment with schedule demands and safety protocols.
* Conduct assurance reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance with issued permits.
* Communicate effectively with construction, H&S, and technical teams to support field coordination.
* Report non-conformances and best practices to the Permit Office Manager.
* Assist in developing new safety procedures in collaboration with Admin and Safety teams.
* Produce performance reports and contribute to weekly/monthly KPI reviews.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, particularly CDM 2015.
* Hands-on experience in permit systems within projects such as power stations, refineries, petrochemical, or large-scale M&E installations.
* IOSH Certificate (minimum) or equivalent.
* Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, ideally with on-site experience in high-risk environments.
* Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Ability to work methodically, independently, and manage competing priorities.
