Location: Hybrid - Hinkley Point C, Somerset / Aztec West, Bristol
Duration: Initial 6-month contract
Pay: £448 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave // £610 p/d Umbrella

We're working in partnership with Hinkley Point C (HPC) - a vital part of the UK's nuclear renaissance. As an Area Engineering Lead, you'll help drive the engineering coordination of one of the most complex construction sites in Europe.
This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of next-generation nuclear infrastructure that will power millions of homes, all while working in a collaborative environment with world-class engineering and delivery teams.
Principal Accountabilities
* Reporting to the Area Engineering Manager and based within the Joint Design Office (JDO), you will:
* Lead a team of engineers within a defined area of the HPC project, ensuring all design and engineering requirements align with site needs and construction timelines.
* Act as a central point of contact across engineering, construction, and contractor teams.
* Manage design deliverables, technical interfaces, and design changes with a focus on ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
* Drive effective resolution of complex engineering challenges, contributing to decision-making and configuration control.
* Oversee acceptance of engineering design packages and ensure they meet all technical and functional specifications.
* Maintain high standards of compliance with nuclear safety, CDM, quality, and contractual obligations (e.g. NEC3/4).
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Degree-qualified in Engineering (Civil or Structural preferred), or equivalent experience
* Significant experience leading engineering delivery in infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or construction projects
* Strong background in stakeholder and interface management in complex project environments
* Familiar with managing design coordination, construction constraints, and regulatory requirements
* Understanding of contract frameworks (ideally NEC), CDM Regulations, and design change processes
* BIM tools familiarity (Navisworks, Tekla, Revit) desirable
* Experience in a regulated or nuclear environment highly desirable
