Be Part of the Future of UK Energy

Are you an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment? Do you take pride in finding practical, safety-focused solutions to complex challenges? Whether you're at the early stages of your career or an experienced engineer ready for a new challenge - this is an opportunity to be part of something extraordinary.

Join the team helping deliver Britain's first new nuclear power station in over 30 years - a project that's redefining large-scale engineering and creating a cleaner, more sustainable future for generations to come.

The Opportunity

As a Commissioning Engineer, you'll play a vital role in preparing, testing, and verifying systems to ensure the safe and successful start-up of key plant areas.
This is a dynamic and evolving position that blends technical depth with delivery execution - offering unmatched exposure across multiple disciplines within one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure projects.

You'll:

  • Contribute to the detailed planning, execution, and analysis of commissioning activities.
  • Ensure systems meet safety, performance, and quality requirements before operational handover.
  • Collaborate with contractors, installation teams, operations, and project engineers to resolve technical challenges.
  • Capture data, analyse results, and document commissioning progress and outcomes.
  • Participate in continual improvement initiatives, applying lessons learned to enhance performance.

No two days will be the same - this is hands-on, high-impact work where your decisions directly contribute to the safe delivery of critical infrastructure.

About You

You'll bring strong engineering knowledge and a passion for practical application in complex, safety-critical environments.
While direct nuclear experience is an advantage, we welcome candidates from pharmaceutical, petrochemical, oil & gas, chemical, or other regulated sectors who have experience commissioning mechanical, electrical, or control systems.

You'll likely have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in commissioning, operations, or engineering project delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and logical thinking
  • Experience with testing, handover, and plant readiness
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on commissioning experience, exposure to design, or site-based work within a regulated sector will be highly valued.

What's In It For You

  • Opportunity to contribute to the UK's most complex and high-profile clean energy project.
  • Work alongside some of the most skilled professionals in the industry.
  • Gain exposure to cutting-edge construction and engineering methods.
  • Develop your career within one of the world's most demanding project environments.
  • Competitive day rate and long-term contract potential.

About the Project

Hinkley Point C will deliver 3.3GW of low-carbon electricity - enough to power around six million homes. With an operating life of over 60 years, it represents a cornerstone in the UK's net-zero strategy.

This is your chance to be part of something truly historic - building a sustainable energy legacy for future generations.
