Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
We are seeking a Wire person who will be primarily responsible for the on-site modification wiring of marshalling systems and control systems for nuclear power station projects. Modifications will be required to be electrically tested for safety, prior to commissioning-by-commissioning Engineers. The role will obviously require travel to customer sites across the UK, with extensive work in the area.
Role & Responsibilities:
* The modification and wiring of electrical control panels / marshalling cabinets and control systems using electrical schematic and layout drawings and specifications. This shall include cable installations and terminations, glanding and termination of paired and multicore cables, and control panel modification works.
* Quality of own work and rework checked during inspection and test.
* Updating issue logs and 'red lining' drawings and then communicating directly with responsible Site Manager, design, or commissioning engineers to resolve issues identified.
* Equipment builds and configuration inspection, LV electrical safety checks, Earth bond continuity test, Point to point wiring checks, Insulation resistance test, Power up, fusing and equipment functionality checks.
* Any other equipment specific tests as detailed in the project hardware test specification for the site installed panels or customer cubicles.

Essential Requirements:
* Experience of E, C & I installation and Control Panel wiring.
* Must work well in a team.
* Able to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, general assembly drawings, wiring schedules and parts lists.
* Must be prepared to travel and work away at customer sites.
* Full UK Driving License.
Desirable Requirements:
* Have experience in carrying out Electrical Installation works
* Apprenticeship trained with ability to undertake minor Site installation activities
* 18th Edition
This role does require the candidate to be able to obtain Security clearance.
