EC&I Design Engineer

Job title: EC&I Design Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: As soon as possible subject to clearance
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum + Benefits (Bonus, Pension, Holidays etc)
Location: Huddersfield
5 Days per week onsite Preferred
Hours of work: 37 hours per week

Role & Responsibilities:
*You will take ownership and responsibility for the execution of all assigned work
*You will deliver fit for purpose, practical Engineering design in line with specification,
budget and programme
*You will support and promote all company and client site directives - HSEQ, best
practice, innovations, continual improvement
* You will development and retain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders
* You will maintain up to date knowledge and competence to support the role and to
align to client's and industries' requirements and directives
*You will produce new and update existing detailed EC&I design documentation; typically - loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O
schedules, control circuits, failsafe circuits, LV power distribution &
protection, single line diagrams, control panel GAs and layouts, instrument
air distribution and control, instrument air system layouts, instrumentation
hook-ups, functional testing procedures.
*You will comply with both national and site standards
*You will carry out site surveys
*You will compile document work packs
*You will comply with company and site procedures; typically - Engineering design, project control, documentation control, procurement, verification
*You will support other activities; typically - estimating, commissioning, hand-over, procurement
*You will contribute to team(s) to support continual improvement
*You will work independently, using your own initiative

Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Degree/ ONC / HNC or equivalent in Electrical / Control / Instrumentation /
Engineering discipline
* 18th Edition Wiring Regs
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent HSE qualification
* CompEx - ExF (foundation), EXF+ (foundation plus) or Ex01-04 (Gas & Vapours), Ex05-06 (Dust), or Ex12 (Application Design Engineers)
* Functional Safety, IEC61508 - TUV or equivalent
* Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations
* Minimum of 5 years experience working as an EC&I Design Engineer
* Proficient in using AutoCad
* Experience of working in a COMAH Tier 1 Process Manufacturing Environment

All candidates must be able to obtain UK National Security Vetting Status - SC Clearance
