Rullion welcomes partner EDF’s decision to proceed with Hinkley Point C

As a strategic resourcing partner to EDF, Rullion welcomed the government’s announcement yesterday that Hinkley Point C will go ahead. Rullion currently supplies c.200 contractors to the power plant and the construction of the new station is estimated to create a further 25,000 jobs.

Supplying, amongst others, construction management, project management, QA, design engineering and cost & commercial roles, Rullion has been working closely with EDF and Hinkley Point since June 2014.

During this time, we have supported EDF in the planning, design and negotiation stages of the Hinkley Point C project, and more specifically, Rullion has been involved with the NNB (Nuclear New Build) part of EDF and their plans to relocate from London to Bristol.

We understand that EDF have committed to engaging with the local government to establish an agreed amount of local resource to be used. In line with this, Rullion has also attended conferences and events with The Skills Brokerage to ensure that the South West benefits from the construction of the new nuclear facility.

Rullion’s Managing Director, Philip Higgins said “The construction of Hinkley Point C is great news for the UK economy, the nuclear industry and particularly the South West. We have excellent relationships in place with almost 200 contractors currently and aim to continue to supply outstanding talent to ensure the success of the project.”
