Day Rate: £420 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave / £560 p/d Umbrella

Vacancy Overview

As an Electrical Engineer within the Joint Design Office (JDO) Review & Acceptance Branch, you'll play a pivotal role in reinforcing site-based engineering at Hinkley Point C. Reporting to an Engineering Lead, you'll be responsible for reviewing and accepting engineering queries raised by site Contractors, focusing on the electrical scope across CI/BOP and Nuclear Island buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to queries, non-conformances, and change requests from the site Contractor, ensuring alignment with project strategy.
  • Ensuring compliance with Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements.
  • Coordinating support from external organizations and assisting in the resolution of open points.
  • Assessing technical risk and addressing it proactively.
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with EPR Engineering (Responsible Designer).

The Skills

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in electrical design, installation, or commissioning.
  • Multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry.
  • Knowledge of construction/installation industry and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Understanding of welding engineering.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders in a site environment.
  • Proactive approach to work and ability to work independently.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
