Your Role: We're looking for an Energy Cost Manager to join us at Co-op. In this role, you'll form part of our source to pay team within Co-op Business Services (CBS), Co-op's centre of excellence for innovative, efficient and valued cross functional central support services to our customers, members, suppliers and colleagues.

You'll help us to complete the Monthly period-end accruals tasks - Updating Paid Bills, Preparing Cost Accrual Files for Utilities Services and Internal Reconciliations. In addition, there are varied, and complex tasks based on individual customer requirements and support with process improvement projects in Power Billing Team. You will need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and Finance Teams for data and query resolution.

As an Energy Cost Manager, you'll:

  • Lead and be responsible for the utility accruals and reconciliations processes.
  • Manage your own workload, keeping to the strict monthly finance deadlines.
  • Play a leading role in the integration and transformation of the Power billing team to Co-op internal strategic systems and processes.
  • Work closely with finance colleagues to align our processes and deadlines to the month end processes across Co-op and our customer accounts.
  • Monitor payments to suppliers and resolve monthly reconciliation and bank queries.
  • Manage non-contract reconciliations and supplier debt, including involvement in resolving any queries or changes in suppliers.
  • Track, monitor and manage the changes across the estates through the change of tenancy process, periodically checking and challenging these to resolution.

Your Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Accruals and reconciliations experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • The ability to analyse data and complex query resolution.
