Summary of the Role

As our Accounting Technician you’ll provide crucial support to the finance department by assisting with various accounting and administrative tasks. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the timely availability of financial information. Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are key for this role!

The successful candidate will be be based overseas in Europe (GMT+-2/-2 Max) in order to support our ambitious overseas expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and promptly.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims in full compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide via support to the accounts payable team, including invoice management, payment runs, and supplier reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Engage in variance analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Utilise your analytical skills to conduct thorough financial analysis, identifying trends that support informed business decision-making.
  • Uphold strict adherence to accounting principles, regulations, and company policies, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity.
  • Play an active role in internal and external audit processes.
  • Foster productive relationships with auditors, collaborating closely to provide required information and efficiently resolve queries.
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of financial controls and procedures.
  • Provide invaluable general administrative support to the finance department, including tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management.
  • Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register.
  • Take ownership of various balance sheet reconciliations, including Bank Reconciliations.
  • Support employee expense reimbursements, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and submission of statutory returns and compliance requirements, playing a crucial role in ensuring regulatory obligations are met.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally as an Accounts Assistant or similar.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • A willingness to work towards a professional accounting qualification.


  • You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in financial records and transactions.
  • Highly organised, which allows you to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Someone with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • An analytical thinker and have great problem-solving skills, enabling you to contribute to financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making processes.
  • Tech savvy and are skilled at using accounting software and the MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Maintaining integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Adaptable and open to learning ways of working, and new technologies and processes in the finance domain.
  • The Financials: You have strong numerical skills, enabling accurate data entry and financial calculations.
  • Proactive and have a results-oriented mindset, driving you to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork and communication, which allows you to collaborate well with others.
