Pay rate: Up to £22.30 per hour PAYE / Umbrella rates available

Location: Torness

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days

Our client, a lead in the nuclear industry is recruiting for a Training Facilities Technician to joint their team at Torness. This is your opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of critical operations such as overseeing the fire safety facility.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:

  • Experience within a training environment is essential.
  • Face fit trained is advantageous.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven, ready to take initiative and navigate challenges.
  • General administration skills to ensure efficient operations, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new software/skills.
  • A team player who can contribute to collective success by taking responsibility on their own initiative.

Role information:

  • Managing and making ready our on site Fire Training facility. This includes general upkeep of the facility, fuel stocks and timber replenishment, fire fighting clothing management, training event refreshment provision, BA cylinder movement, safe movement of gas cylinders and more.
  • Classroom facilities support. This includes general housekeeping and room readiness, audio visual equipment upkeep.
  • Flow loop simulator and other training suite equipment support. Working with the instructors ensure our training suites are maintained and able to fulfil their function. Manage equipment upkeep and provision within the training suites including movement and storage of training rigs.
  • Working with the instructors to maintain oversight of all training owned equipment ensuring compliance with PUWER regulations and maintaining a database of inventory.
  • Provide multi-media support in the form of training aid production. For example production of posters for visual aids during a training event.
  • Carry out face fit testing whilst managing compliance through active scheduling for BA wearers.
  • Support across a wide range training activities and disciplines.
