Job Description

Job title: Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Job Type: Permanent
Salary/ Pay rate/ Benefits: Negotiable (DOE)
Location: Reading - Hybrid available
Hours of work: 40 Hours Mon-Friday

Applicants must have experience of the following:
- Relevant engineering degree, HND, BTec Level 5 award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification
- NEBOSH certificate
- Experience in Defense or Nuclear sectors
- Good understanding of waste management
- Construction site experience
- Able to get SC and DV clearance
- Proven experience leading a team
- Knowledge of ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 or ISO45001 management systems

Role information:
- Develop the project HSE management plans
- Manage HSE throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure health and safety regulations and procedures are understood and adhered to
- Take part in pre-op plans regarding construction/demolition phases
- Ensure personnel have necessary skills, knowledge and experience to be able to operate safely
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure they are aware of the planning, management, monitoring and coordination of the work
- Investigate incidents to find out and remedy the cause
- Prepare risk assessments and method statements
- Delivery HSE briefings and training
