Job Overview
Are you ready to play a key role in the construction of one of the most ambitious nuclear projects in Europe? Hinkley Point C (HPC), based in West Somerset, is seeking a talented Construction Delivery Manager to join its dynamic team. As part of the Nuclear New Build (NNB) initiative, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of designated project sections.
Operating Environment
Hinkley Point C aims to build two major EPR nuclear plants, solidifying its position as a landmark infrastructure project. As a Construction Delivery Manager, you'll contribute to the site's success, working closely with the HPC construction team. Your expertise in consistently delivering projects safely, on time, and to the right quality is crucial for the project's success.
Responsibilities
As a Construction Delivery Manager, you will:
Support contract partners in efficiently delivering works packages.Recommend temporary measures to address safety and quality concerns, ensuring continuous workflow.Monitor and document daily site activities, escalating issues promptly to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.Proactively coordinate with site functions, ensuring effective communication and timely reporting.Organize and lead meetings with contractors, recording outputs for review by the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.Undertake safety and assurance inspections, contributing to the project's HSPI's.Maintain clear two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager for efficient issue resolution.
Requirements
Essential
Proven experience in delivering projects, including construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.Strong understanding of the post holder's obligations under the CDM Regulations.Excellent report-writing skills and the ability to motivate and energize contract partners.Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction management.SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder with excellent organizational and communication skills.Results-focused mindset, able to deliver excellence under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience in a high-security environment.Previous experience within the Nuclear sector or large Civil Engineering/Building/MEH projects..
