Job Description
Role: Commissioning Engineer
Location: Multiple Sites across Southern England
Duration: 6 months
Rate: £350-£380 P/day Umbrella INSIDE IR35
Level 2 Security Vetting Required
Key responsibilities of a Commissioning Engineer;
- Liaise with and take direction from the Commissioning Manager or Lead Commissioning Engineer to ascertain the Commissioning requirement/strategy for the project, in accordance with the technical specification.
- Conform to all site/Siemens processes and procedures/RAMS etc
- Work collaboratively within a team of Commissioning Engineers to ensure the technical solution as designed and engineered is brought to fruition and a working site system.
- Set to work all third party inputs to ensure interface compatibility and full system cause and effect operation compliance in line with the operating requirements and functional specifications for the project.
- Assist with creation of all testing and commissioning documentation to the required standard and in accordance with the contract.
- Complete all relevant test sheets/documentation/sign-offs and issue to the Commissioning manager for client interface and O&M inclusion
- Be aware of and comply with the commissioning strategy and methodology.
- Fill in/complete all relevant test/commissioning records for all relevant disciplines including all phases of on site commissioning and SAT.
- To understand and be an integral part of commissioning process with third party subcontractors.
- Take responsibility for proving/testing system/software configuration activities and cause & effect functionality.
- Be aware of programme for commissioning and SAT activities against milestones.
- Undertake any relevant training as arranged by the Commissioning Manager.
- Maintain a log of any software and hardware defects and report back to the Project/Commissioning Manager.
- Ensure all relevant H&S requirements are complied with in accordance with current legislation and the procedures specified within the contract.
- Ensure compliance with the Siemens internal/site Quality Procedures.
- Implement measures to ensure compliance with the Siemens internal Quality Procedures and the Clients Quality assurance, Document control and G17 procedures.
Key attributes of the Commissioning Engineer;
- Proven experience with commissioning of large multi disciplined, integrated Security Projects.
- Proven experience of commissioning CCTV, Fence Control and Integration Systems
- Excellent methodical organisational and documentation skills.
- Proven experience of working within commissioning teams, able to plan ahead and communicate well with the team, suppliers and customers.
- Good team-worker, able to collaborate within a diverse team working on multi-disciplined sites.
- Qualifications
- City and Guilds in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- ONC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- IEE Regulations 17th Edition (preferable)
- CSCS Card or equivalent
