Job Description

Role: Spares Engineer

Location: Lincoln

Duration: 12 months

Rate: £19.50 P/hr PAYE

Our client, a leading manufacturer of Gas Turbines, are currently in teh market for Spares Engineers/ Technicians to join them at their Lincoln manufacturing site.

Aim

  • To define suitable spares replacement on customer requirements through an interpretation process.
  • To identify and recommend suitable replacements based on a recommended spares process.
  • To manage and maintain spares database in terms of spares data records, spares attributes, supersessions, and to liaise with material control, new unit business, procurement and Standard service business correspondents

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for definition of spares requirements submitted by customers.
  • Responsible for definition of recommended spare parts based on maintenance plans, turbine inspection schedules and recommended spare lists.
  • Assist on project improvement process.
  • Assist to maintain data quality and data management.

Other:

  • Achieves specified sub-tasks within a project under supervision. Has no budgetary responsibility and no project responsibility.
  • Works with customers and other technical groups within the Company as appropriate to exchange information and report progress.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Regular communication with Market Support Spares Correspondents (all spares quotes and orders that require engineering input)
  • Discussions with Further Engineering (obsolete parts).
  • Consultation with Outage Planning Engineers (core engine component identification).
  • Tackles work of a variety of complexity but under close supervision and leadership. Not expected to make engineering judgements.
  • Interpretation of all spares quotes and orders (chargeable & FOC) via SAPSES to ensure all components are current.
  • Produces assigned work in the necessary formats to required timescales and quality standards under supervision.

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Familiarity with Gas Turbines or willing to develop on this field.
  • MS Office Applications, Access & SAP
  • Experience in decision making and exercising technical judgement.
  • Adept at time, priority, and deadline management (Project management)
  • Understand the need for, work to processes and continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
