Job Description

Our client, a market leader within the Utilities industry, is looking to recruit a Financial Analyst on a contract basis for 6 months initially. Their head office is based in Great Sankey, Warrington but this role may involve elements of both office and home working during the current Covid-19 pandemic, applicants must be flexible to do both.

As a Finance Analyst you will be responsible for collating and transforming financial information across a variety of reporting areas. As a key contact for budget managers you are a frontline member of the finance team and are therefore key to building a working relationship with the business areas. Excellent communication skills are key for this role.

Accountabilities
* Two-way budget manager communication.
* Transforming business information in to financial information.
* Creating efficiencies through process improvement whilst maintaining high-levels of customer service.
* Preparation of financial actuals and forecasts accompanied by variance analysis.
* Ensuring financial controls are met.

Knowledge and Skills
* Studying towards a professional qualification (Latter stages AAT, up to part qualified ACCA/CIMA).
* Strong transactional knowledge with the ability to apply accounting treatment to business operations.
* Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
* Experience of driving change within a Finance function.
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills within Finance and the wider business
* Able to analyse financial information and highlight potential areas of improvement.
* Work well under pressure.
* Confidence and determination to qualify and succeed as an accountant.
* Self-motivated and ability to self-manage workload effectively.
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. As a minimum, you should be comfortable with LOOKUPS, SUMIFS and Pivot Tables.

This is a full time role working 37 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 6pm to suit business needs.
