Pay rate: £12.72 P/H PAYE (£16.56 p/h Umbrella)

Hours of work: 37 hours per week


Our Client, a leader in Nuclear Generation for the UK is seeking an Assistant Emergency Prep Cleric, to join on a contractual basis. The role of the assistant is to directly support the Emergency preparedness Engineer (EPE) in demonstrating and maintaining out Site Licence 11 arrangements.


The role is required by the station to manage the Emergency Arrangements, providing support to the station preparedness and Business Continuity. This involves working with various external stakeholders such as ONR, WANO and the emergency services to best support the station and maintain good emergency arrangements.

The individual will be required to support the EPE with the following activities:

  • Supporting/updating/administering the Stations Succession plans.
  • Prepping for site and team exercises including, invites, meeting packs, scenario updates and documentation.
  • Coordinating meeting invites to all staff - internal and external, and coordinating personal on leading up to exercises and on the day.
  • Checking and supporting a high state of readiness of all EP buildings. Assist plant area walkdown and collate information for action/repairs.
  • Carrying out documentation and inventory checks/updates and readiness in all command/muster stations.
  • Note taking, evidence gathering, umpire support for Station training feedback and reports.
  • Supporting Station, peer and Fleet working groups, providing written and oral updates to attendees.
  • Supporting effectiveness reviews of Station related EP activities and training
  • Assisting and liaising with external services
  • General admin activities

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Some degree of experience in emergency preparedness either within the Nuclear sector, Emergency Services or comparable industry would be advantageous.
  • Communication and organisational skill essential.
