Contracting Authority: Nuclear
Contract Length: 12-months - Extension possible
Location: Bridgewater Hinkley Point A - Somerset
37 hours per week
MON-Thurs (4 day working week)
IR35: Yes
Pay Rate to Candidate: £35.96 p/hr UMBRELLA (A higher rate might be possible for exceptional candidates)

Minimum Requirement:

  • Appropriate HNC, degree or National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 5/6 in Electrical, C&I, Mechanical or Civils
  • Membership of a relevant Engineering Institution

Further skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of nuclear and/or conventional project engineering
  • Detailed understanding of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards
  • Working knowledge of the Safety Rules and working knowledge of risk assessment methodology.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant Site Licence and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of CDM Designer role
  • Contract Management


The Role


Highly experienced Senior Civil Project Engineer to lead sub projects across site including taking ownership of design duties associated with the repair and redesign of damaged Gabion Wall - As such previous experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams whilst operating with a high level of autonomy is desirable, especially in relation to Sea Defences.
The role will include preparation of design packages and enabling documentation (including but not limited to:- Risk assessments, technical specifications & method statements)in support of Asset and Infrastructure care scope
As an Engineer with extensive experience, you will demonstrate an ability to deliver projects on time and within budget; you will possess strong people-management and motivational skills combined with a high level capability in the field of design.


The successful candidate will thrive on taking ownership and liaising with internal and external stakeholders ranging from the coastguard to material suppliers.
