JOB TITLE: Business Case Specialist

LOCATION: Reading
RATE: Negotiable Depending on Experience
INSIDE IR35

DURATION: up to 18 Months


ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- Skill in persuasive oral and written communication
- Previous experience of developing qualification documents, contracts, proposals, and customer presentations
- Knowledge, understanding and previous experience of developing government sector business cases in line with HM Treasury's Green Book and associated guidance
- Previous knowledge, understanding and experience of developing both written content and financial and economic analysis using business case cost modelling practices, including sensitivity analysis, benefit and risk forecasting, working with SMEs as appropriate
- Knowledge and experience of navigating public sector/government investment approval processes, ideally in Defence
- Thorough understanding of formal proposal preparation processes with ability to train and lead multidisciplinary team in preparing a final sales document or presentation.
- Ability to collaborate at senior level and influence stakeholders across multiple organisations
- Demonstrable experience of working on complex, large infrastructure programmes
- Degree Qualified in a relevant discipline
- Current Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain SC Security Clearance
JOB PURPOSE / DESCRIPTION
As the Business Case Specialist you will be required to undertake but not limited to the following day to day duties:
- Work with both the customer and stakeholders to develop a Programme Business Case for a major defence infrastructure programme
- Coordinate input and direction from various stakeholders to inform the development of the Business Case
- Authoring key aspects of the overall Business Case and supporting documents
- Manage the Business Case through approval gates and associated scrutiny and assurance mechanisms
