Bridgwater
12 month rolling PAYE Contract (+ 33 days paid leave).
40 Hours per week. Mon-Fri
£375-450.00 per day PAYE


The Construction Delivery Manager supports activities in the field relating to the construction of a designated section of the works and it's on site facilitation. It includes day to day on site supervision and direction of the works to safely and efficiently deliver the project.

Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site, based in West Somerset, 15 miles from Bridgwater. The NNB ambition is to build two major EPR nuclear plants, and the position will be part of HPC site construction team. Due to the scale of this project, the programme duration and the immovable completion date, the Construction Delivery Manager should have experience in delivering projects.

The Construction Delivery Manager will support the delivery of an area within a specific section of the Works. This responsibility extends to all construction and related activities, reporting to the Area Construction Delivery Manager and includes logistics planning and implementation in collaboration with the site wide logistics team, programming and planning, monitoring and close out of authorities' obligations and conditions and client liaison.

Framework & Boundaries
The Construction Delivery Manager will assist tactical logistics planning for individual works sections in support of the work completed on strategic logistics. Thereafter, they will be responsible for the detailed planning and implementation, in collaboration with the rest of the HPC Delivery Team and Area Construction Delivery Manager.

Principal Accountabilities


Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of the of their sections works.

Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/ or quality concerns. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to avoid the halt of works.

Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation

Proactively communicate with other site teams (H&S, contract, project controls, logistics) and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links, and ensure activity is well and timely reported.

Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Area Construction Delivery manager so that all activity and issues are directed appropriately

Dimensions


EDF Energy will be working as Principle Contractor to deliver this Major Project.

The post holder will be based at Hinkley Point C and may be required to travel to other company locations in the UK and possibly Europe as required.

Manage and coordinate delivery of service contract partners.


Essential


Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation

Good understanding of the post holder's obligations under CDM Regulations

Working knowledge in the delivery of projects

Be able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports

Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.

Possess excellent organisation and communication skills

Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience

Collaborate with other managers to effectively manage operations of the site

Adopt a results-focussed mind set, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value and quality.

Desirable

Experience of operating in a high security environment advantageous

Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous but can be off-set by experience within Civil Engineering or Construction

Knowledge of French can be an advantage
