Job Description


Engineering & Maintenance Planner


The planner will take full responsibility for short- and medium-term planning which includes routine maintenance (PPM) work, corrective and emergent work planning, adhoc contract/third party work scopes and will occasionally including internal project execution planning. The role will report directly to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager and day to day will be working very closely with the Maintenance Team on site and its engineers.
The position will include working with our stores and stock management systems and team to ensure we control our spares properly and efficiently as part of the planning and work execution processes.

Experience & Qualifications Required
Good working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering principles
Previous experience of manufacturing or processing industry; and major plant and equipment.
Proven track record of problem solving
Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance systems (Shire/Pirana)
Experience of creating/building an MMS system from its infancy for a significant other operation would be extremely beneficial.
Experience of Critical Asset management will be extremely beneficial.
Experience working very closely with technicians to achieve maintenance excellence, from scratch via coaching and development of those people would be hugely beneficial.

Role Responsibilities
Main priority is to assist in ensuring that the site and team comply with all applicable HS&E and Engineering based legislation and company rules.
Assist the Engineering and Maintenance Manager with responsibility for engineering / maintenance activities on-site including but not limited to all areas of preventative maintenance management and including corrective and emergent work, internal project planning where site resource is required, purchasing and spares stock management.
Contribute to ensuring that the plant is running at an optimum level, aiming for predictable breakdowns and maximising equipment lifetime by creating, managing and continually improving the company Shire/Pirane Maintenance Management System.
Planning of all PPM activities with a view to achieving, or exceeding standard KPI performance metrics.
Organising and correctly prioritising Works Request and emergent work.
To provide accurate feedback regarding machinery that is faulty / broken to all relevant parties ensuring that others can plan accordingly.
Highlight in a timely fashion any delays or long lead time spares requests.
To communicate effectively and accurately any information about stock requirements and usage to the MBA Buyer, Store person, maintenance technicians and leadership team as appropriate.
To monitor maintenance works, and routinely conduct appropriate checks on MMS data input quality. Coach to close any gaps present from individuals or teams.
Compilation of any reports in relation to work undertaken including but not limited to: Fault Repairs, PPM, Overtime, Lost Time Reports and Breakdown Reports etc.
