PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
-
Conceive, plan and deliver the Clients Net Zero Carbon strategy, seeking continuous improvement through implementation of technological solutions to reduce carbon such as installation of renewable measures and improvements to properties to increase their efficiency.

Take the Lead on external accreditations and awards.

Define Environmental Metrics and KPIs for properties both operational and non-operational and organise environmental reporting to drive energy performance.

Working with internal stakeholders to produce tangible programmes in terms of scope, time and cost for the decarbonisation and/or offsetting of the client's scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions for properties and embodied carbon in construction projects.

Monitoring the progress of decarbonisation programmes and managing issues to ensure progress in line with agreed timescales.

Advocating Zero Carbon approaches to suppliers and planning to include Zero Carbon commitments in contract documents.

Drive a culture change so that NZC is embedded in the everyday operation of the business, with those in leadership roles seeing successful completion of decarbonisation plans as business success.

Delivering and/or arranging training for key stakeholders in the business ensuring they have sufficient knowledge and understanding to lead on the relevant aspects of NZC.

Produce and present reports on the progress of decarbonisation plans both internally and externally.

Promoting and advocating the NZC approach both internally and externally.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-
Subject Matter Expert in energy efficiency
-
Experience in a similar position with an expertise around energy efficiency and understand the outcomes of how efficiency measures relate CO2 emissions

Understanding / knowledge of climate change and associated science and legislation.

Understanding of the client's main sources of carbon emissions: Energy in buildings, road transport, fugitive emissions and grid losses.

Experience devising and implementing measures to reduce carbon emissions.

Ability to communicate and influence senior stakeholders across multiple areas of the business.

The ability to understand how to take a strategy and develop it into a deliverable programme
-
Ability to manage the scope, cost and time constrains of projects and programmes.

Excellent IT skills essential

Excellent communication skills verbal, numerical & written

Experience in an energy or decarbonisation role
-
Experience working in the electricity sector is advantageous
-
Experience presenting technical information to a wide range of audiences

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science or other related discipline
-
Related masters level qualification desirable
-
Project management qualification
-
Minimum 4 years working in a project delivery/assurance environment
