To manage the delivery of Construction sites. Contribute in the pre-planning meetings working with the project managers. To manage Site Foreman to deliver the projects and to have joint responsibility with PM for project sign off.
Minimum 2 years site & management experience
SSSTS is essential
SMSTS would be desirable (or working towards)
Valid CSCS card or equivalent
Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations 2015
Valid First Aid certificate
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead from the front and ensure that Five Rivers is the best we can be.
To lead by example.
Line manage the delivery of projects, support the Site Foreman & act as a mentor
Responsibility for timely delivery for the construction phase within budget, reporting directly to the project specific PM.
Support the Contracts Manager & Project manager with project development & Initial project planning
Vehicle & plant management, responsible for the condition of vehicles, weekly maintenance, and management.
Responsibility for weekly staff allocations in agreement with other SM's.
Responsible for ordering of all plant, materials required onsite, sub-contractors, tools, and vehicles (with less than 1 months lead in time)
Partake in PCM & wash up with PM
Responsible for Teams Asset register, ordering repairs and replacements where required.
To report effectively to the PM on project progress through written/verbal reporting
Provide early warnings of issues and highlight potential delays to the PM
To ensure compliance & IMS reporting requirements are met
Seek approval from the PM should an item required onsite be over budget or not from Approved supplier list
Manage working hours and Over Time for team and report accordingly to PM
To measure and report on all Approved Suppliers
Health & Safety:
Ensure all H&S legislation is complied with onsite.
Review RAMS and site paperwork to ensure they are fit for purpose and up to date.
Immediate reporting of all accidents to the PM, Senior PM and record on Peninsular
Record all incidents and near misses on Peninsular
Recruitment - Assess submitted CV's, help produce a short list & attend interviews for new site staff.
Responsible for managing Site staff holiday requests and ensuring that we have appropriate cover to deliver sites safely and efficiently.
Working with the Project Managers and to identify training requirements for site staff and ensuring that training is entered into Builderstorm to ensure staff attend.
Managing staff appraisals of Foreman & site staff
Responsible for Staff wellbeing and moral
Reporting concerns & Issues to relating to staff matters to the PM
Ensure that welfare & staff accommodation are appropriate, suitable and within budget. (If it is not possible for the SM to source within 30 mins travel time, under £60pppn & ideally self-accommodation, the PM to approve)
