6 month Contract (extension option)
PAYE £235.00 per day (33 days holiday pro rata) or Umbrella £305.00 per day (no holiday)
40 hours per week

The TCO Security Design Technical Author is responsible for the review, development and maintenance of the HPC Project Security Plan, and support to the preparation of the SZC Project Security Plan. The role directly supports ONR regulatory compliance, as well as efficiencies between HPC and SZC project security documentation The role will work closely with TCO Security personnel and collaborate with the wider project teams to ensure an aligned approach to the HPC deliverables.
This post has the responsibility to support TCO Security in the scheduled review of the HPC Project Security Plan and its significant body of reference material. Completion of this review, and appropriate alignment of the SZC Project Security Plan is time critical for regulatory compliance for both HPC and SZC projects. This post will act as lead author, while ensuring planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the HPC Project whilst still in accordance with regulatory constraints.
The successful candidate will be required to manage their own time and delegate as required, and will be empowered to make decisions on behalf of the Project in order to support regulatory and company expectations. Additionally, they must be able to interpret regulations, present technical messages in a non-technical way, and engage with a broad group of technical stakeholders and reference owners to enable timely delivery

Principal Accountabilities
• Prepare, manage and deliver against the Quality Plan for the revision of the HPC Project Security Plan.
• Provide support to the author of the SZC Project Security Plan to ensure appropriate alignment with the HPC Project Security Plan, and its supporting suite of reference documents.
• Liaise with Pre Operations and Emergency Arrangements to ensure the Project Security Plan is aligned with site Operational Requirements.
• Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the task. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of issues raised, develop and update the programme and escalate any issues to the Security Design Manager.
• Ensure detailed documented records are created and maintained to ensure future clarity of the process and outcomes.
• Support the delivery of the programme activities to ensure they are delivered safely and securely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience


• The post holder will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have a comparable level of practical experience.
• Experience in specifying, designing and producing technical documentation to deliverable standards.
• Experience of capturing requirements from varied sources and as a result incorporating those details technical documents.
• Excellent written English, including the preparation of suites of technical documents.
• Track record of providing innovative solutions within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector.
• Able to demonstrate some technical knowledge of physical, personnel and cyber security management systems.
• Capable of successfully engaging senior management and diverse groups of stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
• Some knowledge of UK Nuclear safety or security regulations and legislation.
• A basic understanding of EPR or PWR design and the nuclear fuel cycle
• Experience of security/safety regulated working environments.
