Job Description

JOB TITLE: Electrical Package Manager

LOCATION: Edinburgh / Remote Working

DURATION: 6 Months +


YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: A good working knowledge of the installation of offshore cables and onshore cables. Competence and experience in dynamic cables is a distinct advantage.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

A suitably qualified and experienced senior electrical engineer or engineering manager with an electrical bias.

Minimum of 3 years and ideally 5 years of demonstrable experience of managing high value offshore wind farm construction projects.
With an engineering / construction background, the candidate shall demonstrate:-

• A record of successfully managing similar contracts within challenging economic and programme targets.
• Understanding and experience of HSE requirements and obligations of the CDM (2015) regulations.
• Excellent ability to communicate to stakeholders all levels in English.
• The ability to pro-actively manage contractors and sub-contractors, including commercial and technical aspects, scheduling and co-ordination of activities.
• Planning, commercial and contractual management experience with a working knowledge of software based project management tools.
• Risk identification, management and mitigation experience.
• A good working knowledge of the installation of offshore cables and onshore cables. Competence and experience in dynamic cables is a distinct advantage.
• Experience of achieving the highest level of quality assurance and control in a manufacturing, assembly and termination process.
• A high degree of knowledge and experience of the maintenance requirements for complex offshore systems.
• An ability to review, assess and agree technical design information, drawings and documentation.
• A proven ability as a self-starter, with an ability to provide technical, construction, logistics and commercial support to a wider Project Team, in a multi-package project delivery environment
• The ability to present to and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders including technical and commercial negotiations with Suppliers and Contractors.
• Ability to evaluate and communicate risks and propose and implement management and mitigation measures
• An understanding of HAZID/HAZOP and FMEA studies
Functional responsibilities HSEQ and Commercial:
• HS&E: adhere to Blyth HS&E requirements and work with HSE Manager for HSE implementation for WPs 3&4
• Quality: support quality procedures related to WPs 3&4
• Risk, support risk management for WPs 3&4
•Commerc ial, work closely with procurement manager in procurement activities affecting WPs 3&4.
