Job Description

On behalf of our client, a tier 1 global rail contractor, we are recruiting for a Contract Materials Forecasting Business Analyst.

This role would suit someone familiar with the rail industry.

The Business Analyst is required to gather and document requirements from the users, produce application data mappings, functional specifications and test scripts. Working in a project structure and with third-party suppliers who will be delivering the solution. The role will also take responsibility for technical and quality issues to ensure applications meet user requirements.

The scope of work is to work with the UK Rolling Stock Business Systems team, business stakeholders to help deliver a material forecasting solution related to the efficient maintenance of rail services within the United Kingdom.

Candidates must have:

BCS Professional Certification (formerly Information Systems Examinations Board) at foundation level or equivalent.

Experience in system integration and data analysis

A technical understanding of a Material Forecasting System in a maintenance environment for planned and unplanned (historic) demand.

A technical and functional understanding of the materials management functionality of an ERP financial application, such as SAP

A technical and functional understanding of a Maintenance Management application pertaining to long term and short term planning and associated bills of material.

A technical and functional understanding of system integration using industry middleware solutions

Ability to manage multiple user requirements on complex systems.

Experience of the buy, build process and solution evaluation to ensure best fit for the business.
