Job DescriptionRullion are currently working with a leading consultancy and framework partner to United Utilities in the search for Operational Technology (OT) Engineers based in Manchester and Cumbria, 1 position being available for each location.
This specific role will be working within the East Area Deployed Engineering team. As part of this role the Engineer will be required to optimise existing assets, identify efficiencies and undertake root cause analysis.
The Operational Technology Systems Engineering team provides Engineering Services within a UU Wholesale operational support and project delivery structure. OT Systems Engineering consists of ~ 30 technical specialists and engineers providing ICA and Telemetry project and functional expertise.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be a Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with post-graduate experience and a good background knowledge of the OT Engineering discipline within the water industry. You will have a good working knowledge of the interfaces with other disciplines e.g. Electrical, Civil, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Modeling and Process. You will possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
Industry experience of engineering, implementing and maintaining OT Process Control Instrumentation.
Good technical understanding of water industry instrumentation and control systems, including DSEAR and Safety Instrumented Systems.
Good technical understanding of OT architectures, experience in the application of PLC, SCADA, Fieldbus and industrial networking for site systems.
Understanding of hardware architecture design and connectivity to deliver OT solutions against a backdrop of an IT environment.
Commercial awareness and understanding of NEC3 contracts.
Industry experience of engineering, implementing and maintaining PLC and SCADA systems.
